Privacy

The short version: SniffTester has no accounts, no forms, no newsletter, and collects nothing about you directly. One thing on this site does set cookies — the affiliate tracking tag that attributes purchases when you click a merchant link. Here's the full picture.

What we collect directly

Nothing. We don't ask for your name, email, or anything else, and there's nowhere on the site to enter them. For traffic stats we use Cloudflare Web Analytics (when enabled), which is cookieless and shows us aggregate numbers — how many people visited a page, roughly where from. It doesn't build a profile of you individually. We also count aggregate article views on our own server using a daily-rotating anonymized hash — your IP address and browser info scrambled together with a secret, producing a value that changes every day and can't be traced back to you — so we only ever store that derived value, never your IP: no cookies, no persistent identifiers, and individual readers are not identifiable.

Affiliate tracking

SniffTester earns through affiliate links, and affiliate programs need a way to know a sale came from us. To do that, our pages load a tracking tag from Impact Radius (impact.com), the network that runs some of our merchant partnerships. The tag may set cookies or similar identifiers when you view a page or click an affiliate link, so that if you later buy something, the merchant knows to credit the referral. That's attribution, not profiling by us — we never see who you are, only aggregate clicks and commissions. Impact's own data practices are in theimpact.com privacy policy. Outbound links

When you click through to a merchant — a GPS tracker brand, an insurer, a feeder company — you leave SniffTester and land on their site, which has its own privacy policy and its own data practices. We don't control what happens after you click, so check their policy if you're curious.

Advertising

SniffTester currently displays no third-party display ads. If we introduce them in the future, ad vendors such as Google may use cookies to serve and personalize ads. If that day comes, we'll update this policy before the ads go live and provide any consent controls the law requires.
